Malagueta Inn: Hidden gem with a relaxed ambiance, close to restaurants, markets, shops, and parks. Helpful and friendly staff.

Great composition of modern African art and upcycled furniture. Very friendly and attentive landlord. Very tasty breakfast! We found it as a very special and tasteful accommodation. If you are looking for standard hotel services, you are in the wrong place. If you are looking for a special accommodation, you will be delighted.
The entrance is not so easy to find. The location is central but not great. Nevertheless I can recommend it!

This guesthouse is a hidden gem, located in a prime and safe location near many great restaurants, including the oldest restaurant in the area. You can relax on the terrace or in the guest relaxing area right next to your room. the rooms are always clean, and staff members are always helpful and smiling.
The guesthouse lacks private parking facilities, and you may need to leave your car on the main road, which may be inconvenient if you have a lot of luggage.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel and I must say, it was a fantastic experience. The attention to detail in every aspect of the hotel was truly impressive. From the beautifully decorated rooms to the cozy common areas, everything was designed with the utmost care. The location of the hotel is also worth mentioning, as it is situated in the best neighborhood in the city. With restaurants, supermarkets, and pharmacies just a short walk away, convenience was never an issue. The staff at this hotel were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make me feel at home. Special thanks to Miguel, the owner, who truly made my stay memorable with his hospitality. And let's not forget the breakfast - it was absolutely superb! The variety and quality of the food left me satisfied and ready to take on the day.
No complaints whatsoever.

So I spent my new year's eve at this place and it was a bit of a mixed experience. On the plus side, the view was amazing as we could see the beach from our room's balcony, definitely a great location to watch the fireworks. the free cocktails and snacks were a nice touch and made us feel welcome. Also was good to have a fridge in the room to store our own drinks.
There were quite a few negatives. the room was quite outdated and overall pretty dirty, definitely not up to standard.

The bed was comfortable and the towels were soft. The shower had good water pressure and the room was cleaned daily. The hotel is located in a central area close to restaurants and shops, making it easy to get around and explore the city. I also appreciated the complimentary breakfast, which had a decent variety of food.
The Wi-Fi was not reliable and kept disconnecting. the room was quite noisy due to the street traffic outside and I had trouble sleeping at night.

The hotel is really well situated and probably the best choice to stay. It is in the main area and really safe, making it convenient for walking around. The neighborhood is charming with lots of cafes and restaurants, and the hotel itself has a terrace with a lounge and eating area. The basic amenities are excellent, and the staff makes every effort to ensure a pleasant stay. The breakfast is really good and the rooms are small but comfortable.
All was ok.

I had a great stay at Malagueta Inn. The hidden gem of a place felt more like a cozy home than an inn. The open lounge and courtyard were incredibly relaxing, and I loved the overall atmosphere. The location was perfect, with plenty of restaurants, shops, and parks nearby. Martinho and Manuel, the staff members, were extremely helpful and friendly. Not to mention, there was a lovely crafts shop right by the entrance. I even extended my stay and returned for another night at the end of my trip. I highly recommend this place.
